OPSEC: BOTH GOOD AND BAD
I wrote a Master’s Thesis on “Media Distancing and the Military,” many years ago. It covered from Vietnam through all the brush fires conflicts.
With focus on one central threat, Iran, we get limited information to include BDA, Battle Damage Assessments.
Only the government types know the real situation and at this point, it is a matter of trust.
As for the bombing of Iran, until we kill enough of the terrorist types in the country, the resistance will not step up. They let them take over, and that is how this all started. Now, they must channel all their rage into exterminating their terrorist government types in Iran and all of their proxy states. It is a perfect time to cut the heads off all the snakes.
Our Fall and winter schedule should be out with this web letter or shortly after.
The big change will be the Basic SWAT courses. Nick has secured a local GSA rate and classroom off CSAT.
The class will run the same, but the price will be more competitive with the State prices and without the past lodging.
SUBJECT: BASIC SWAT
DATES: TBD
LOCATION: NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS
CSAT is proud to host a 60-Hour Basic SWAT Class.
Our intent is to provide a tough and comprehensive tactical training week with no harassment. Students will be treated like professionals and will be required to act accordingly. Students will be counseled in writing on negative behavior and the staff reserves the right to release a student from the course for Major Safety Violations or a Disruptive or Unprofessional attitude.
This class will prepare the new SWAT officer to seamlessly integrate into their tactical unit. Major topics to be covered:
· Safety
· A stair-stepped shooting program that covers all the basic skills needed for surgical shooting, both rifle and pistol.
· Team Organization
· Breaching
· High Risk Warrants
· Covert Clearing/Shields
· Vehicle Assaults
· React Team Procedures
· Arrest procedures
· Assault Planning
· Medical
· Tactical Scenarios
AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS: 400 Ball Pistol, 400 Ball Rifle
Students should set their personal training goals to exceed:
These standards are a target goal. They will be tested on day 1 of the course. The run times are based on 9-minute miles.
Push-ups and sit-ups are the same for both male and female officers. Equipment such as rams, shields, rifles, and equipment are the same weight for all aged officers, as are the
distances they have to move. The fight officers engage in on the street will be the same for both male and female officers. This is the reasoning for one PT standard. One mission = one standard.
Ensure you know how to field strip, clean and function check both your rifle and pistol prior to course attendance.
All Tactical gear, to include helmet, vest, gas mask, flash light, eyes, ears. Rifle and Pistol, pistol belt. Rifle will have a sling. Bring water and inclement weather gear. If possible, students should have weapons (rifles) zeroed to 100 yards.
Students can be terminated for the following:
-
Major safety violation with a weapon (gross negligent discharge, pointing weapons at other students or instructors during routine training and not role play with sims.)
-
Integrity violations
-
Cumulative problems such as safety, physical and attitude combined.
-
Quitting at any time is accepted = voluntary withdrawal (we keep your tuition money).
Routinely, I spend 4-6 hours during the course counseling, mentoring, and speaking with team leaders of students who are having issues. We want all students to graduate, but they must earn it.
Students will eat locally.

It has finally started to be August hot. By the time you read this, we will have had several days in the 100’s. The good news is the humidity drops.
Also, when the rain stops, we don’t have to mow as much.
But, he pigs have been thick and have been rooting up Sniper Hill

This was part of a small herd that dropped at the 400-yardline, after sneaking up to the 300 at 1030 in the morning.
The rifle is a .308 Ruger Scout with 168-grainAMAX.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the range.
